چکیده
The most widely distributed blaCTX-M gene on a global scale is blaCTX-M-15. dissemination has been associated with clonal spread and different types of mobile genetic elements. objective this review was to describe the environments blaCTX-M-15 detected from Enterobacteriaceae in published literature Africa. A search for relevant articles performed through PubMed, AJOL, Google Scholar electronic databases; 43 17 African countries were included based eligibility criteria. Insertion sequences reported as part environment 32 studies, integrons 13 plasmids 23 studies. In review, five insertion including ISEcp1, IS26, orf447, IS903, IS3 have which are Seven patterns seen environment. sequence ISEcp1 commonly located upstream end gene, while orf477 downstream. some truncated by IS26 IS3. class 1 integron (Intl1) be (13 studies), Intl1/dfrA17–aadA5 being common cassette array. Prevalence of Plasmid-mediated Quinolone Resistance and Its Association with Extended-spectrum Beta-lactamase and AmpC Beta-lactamase in Enterobacteriaceae
BACKGROUND We investigated the prevalence of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance and its association with extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) and AmpC beta-lactamase in Enterobacteriaceae. METHODS A total of 347 non-duplicated isolates of Enterobacteriaceae were collected between August and October 2006 from 2 hospitals. Qnr determinant screening was conducted using PCR amplification, a...
متن کاملPlasmid-mediated quinolone resistance in expanded spectrum beta lactamase producing enterobacteriaceae in Morocco.
INTRODUCTION Although independently acquired, plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance appears to be linked with extended-spectrum or AmpC-type beta-lactamases. Since no data are available in African countries, the prevalence of qnr genes at the University Hospital Ibn Rochd, Casablanca, Morocco, was investigated. METHODOLOGY Between October 2006 and March 2007, the following 39 randomly selecte...
متن کاملNovel R-plasmid-mediated beta-lactamase from Klebsiella aerogenes.
A novel beta-lactamase with a broad spectrum of activity against penicillins and cephalosporins has been detected in a strain of Klebsiella aerogenes. Its synthesis is mediated by an R-plasmid of molecular weight 64 x 10(6).
متن کاملMicrobiological Screening Is Necessary to Distinguish Carriers of Plasmid-Mediated AmpC Beta-Lactamase-Producing Enterobacteriaceae and Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL)-Producing Enterobacteriaceae because of Clinical Similarity
OBJECTIVES Plasmid-mediated AmpC beta-lactamase-producing (pAmpC) Enterobacteriaceae are increasing worldwide, difficult to identify and often confounded with extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) producers. The low prevalence precludes routine universal admission screening. Therefore, we evaluated potential risk factors for carriage of pAmpC-producing Enterobacteriaceae that would allow targ...
متن کاملIdentification of DHA-23, a novel plasmid-mediated and inducible AmpC beta-lactamase from Enterobacteriaceae in Northern Taiwan
OBJECTIVES AmpC β-lactamases are classified as Amber Class C and Bush Group 1. AmpC β-lactamases can hydrolyze broad and extended-spectrum cephalosporins, and are not inhibited by β-lactamase inhibitors such as clavulanic acid. This study was conducted to identify DHA-23, a novel plasmid-mediated and inducible AmpC β-lactamase obtained from Enterobacteriaceae. METHODS A total of 210 carbapene...
